Les Sables d’Olonne is a popular beach destination in France that attracts many visitors each year. While its sandy shore is the main attraction, the town itself has charming streets, shops, and restaurants.
Recently, a problem has emerged. After enjoying the sea, many tourists leave the beach but don't change their clothes. They walk through the town center wearing only bikinis or swim trunks, which some local residents find disrespectful.
Because of this, the mayor of the town has decided to take action. He is leading a new effort to encourage people to dress more appropriately once they step off the sand.
In a public message, the mayor asked for ‘a little restraint.’ He explained that while swimwear is perfect for the beach, it isn't considered suitable for shopping or eating in cafes in the town center.
The new guidance isn't meant to punish tourists. Instead, it aims to create a respectful environment for everyone, including the local families who live and work in the town all year.
